  • GL is not cheap at all.. his projectile is slow and his special attacks arnt that strong at all.

  • Nope. Just hold block until you run out of health. Or rush him...and maybe get caught in a Hand! :)

  • Good points. Lessons in how to play the game here. When watching this video, GL appears to be a very strong character, and it made me think of Dairou. Maybe i just miss him is all. :(

  • Fist can be sidestepped, then you run up. Pro hammer, you just run under. Straight hammer can be jumped (it doesn't cover much vertical space), misses from full screen, and can't really keep you out. GL actually sucks at turtling because his moves take so long to recover.

    Yes, b1 is punishable on block, unless you're playing online, where it'll vary, like Flash's b3.

    GL is semi-reminiscent, but in no way is he THAT dominating. Dai could not be approached at all. GL can be.

  • 1) Okay. But for all these turltes, it's easy to keep throwing out Fists and Hammers.

    5) True. Not to discount them; i was just counting off GL's strong points.

    I compared him to Dai more so in this way:

    Fist and Hand = to Iron Leg (fast/catch jumpers)

    Hand = Drop (Lots of blocking to defend against/combo on connect)

    Absolutely as good as Dai, no. Just reminds me of him in those ways.

  • 1. Fist and straight hammers are good specials, but they aren't that spammable.

    2. Hand is good. Will not lie.

    3. A lot of characters have safe lows. And if you're referring to b1, it's punishable.

    4. Why 2-in-1 to a fist? Hand is a better 2-in-1.

    5. There's a few others with safe mid dials.

    GL in no way is close to MKD Dai. A good Dai in MKD was close to untouchable...GL not as much. You couldn't get close to him at all. He had a ranged mixup game.

  • GL has 1) a fast special that reaches across the screen that if you try to rush you get caught with a fist or a a fast spammable projectile; 2) a fast spammable stun that can be comboed off of as well as used off of a breaker, 3) a safe low up close, 4) a safe mid up close that can be 2-in-1 into a fist; and 5) a 4 or 5 hit chain that is safe WITH mids built in. And you say that's NOT overpowered? TB did a very decent job with him here, but GL could easily be = to Dairou of MKD (see above).

  • If anyone wants to say GL's breaker combos are broken, look at these vids. In no way is it that overpowering.
