Every home inspection should include checking the electrical connections of the main and sub panel service lugs. This video shows a brand new house that has passed the City code inspections yet this was found by the inspector.

  • aluminum wireing?

  • Aluminum is OK on the service feeds to the sub panel. You just don't want them on the branch circuits (from the breakers to the outlets and switches). The issue here is the loose conductor on the left side (red), This is a potential fire hazard.

  • I know that, im asking if the wires to the sub were aluminum because the problem with aluminum is that you always have to tighten the lugs twice because it compresses slower than copper.

  • I think these were copper. Good comment though.
