Finding comfort in myself amid life's discomforts -- the basic foundation of almost every form of spirituality and terrific life advice. I love how yoga continues to change my perspective on the world and myself in the world. <3 Excellent series, and wonderfully inspiring commentary. Thank you!

Inspiring message -3
Love and peace to you :)

In pigeon pose my hips don't seem to touch the ground at all - are my hips extremely tight, or am I doing the pose incorrectly?
At any right, I love the message of this video and will begin to keep this lesson with me in my daily life. Thank you!

I am really hoping to incorporate this sequence into a routine but I'm struggling with the pigeon pose... can you talk me through it?? I'm just beginning yoga and I'm not sure of the proper technique...

@Flowingwithgracenl Thanks I look forward to more of your videos. = ]

@bugbumble3 I will think about doing a sequence for an all-levels love-handles yoga practice (could use it myself, actually :) In the meantime, check out Ester's awesome 20 minute energizing yoga flow!

@jayofthewoo thanks for your question. "Space" can be a foreign concept, but when you think of yourself in any challenging situation, you will feel some degree of being trapped, or contracted. In your body, your mind and how you feel. Instead of focussing on that contraction, try to find the space in any part of yourself, your mind (ea counting to 10 before reacting) , your body (directing your breath more into your belly) and your feelings (ea cultivating joy instead of anger).

@MegF142857 an important part of the practice is that we build up a routine. When I started yoga (over 10 years ago) I could not touch my toes or do the things I can do today. It takes practice, patience and the endurance of feeling uncomfortable. Believe me, I still feel uncomfortable in my practice today, I just learned to view it differently! And yes, work at your own level, so you enjoy it more!

@Cambz wow, a lot of questions! Keeping the toes tucked helps to activate the leg muscles in an even and balanced way. This in turn helps to open the hips more effectively. When the arms are lifted up in downward dog, it allows the spine to lengthen more freely, the lower back to curve inward so the thighbones can move into the back of the body and come deeper in the hip joint, which will help open the hips more. I hope this clarifies it! Thanks for asking

@deenababyblack keep up the good work!
Really uncomfortable indeed, but it feels nice afterwards! However, isn't discomfort against what yoga stands for? In all the other videos we are told to listen to our body, find the position your body wants to be in. It seems a bit contradictory.

@samsonnie Discomfort is different from pain, a warning signal off the body. Discomfort comes with expanding your boundaries. That is a place we encourage to be in in yoga. If you never expand your boundaries, your world end up to become smaller and smaller. Challenging yourself and learning to be comfortable with discomfort, your body, mind and spirit will expand.
