San Pietro in Bevagna is a very nice bathing fraction on the ionic coast of the Salento of the municipality of Manduria, province of Taranto.
The fraction is deserted in winter, while in summer it is full of people for bathing tourism.
Recently it is in remarkable increase the development of the foreign tourism.
Its situated on the ionic coast, between single Taranto and Gallipoli and to 12 km from Manduria. The fraction of Saint Peter in Bevagna is extended to north to south for approximately 10 km.
In it slides the Chidro river, the more important river of the Salento jonica coast and there is comprised some natural reservoirs.
S. Pietro In Bevagna climate is typically Mediterranean.
The annual medium temperature is attested on the 16.5°-16.7°.
In winter is not rare episodes of nocturnal ices especially during anticyclonic periods, in summer temperature can be of 40° and sometimes of 43°-44°
The origin of Saint Peter in Bevagna closely is tied to the history dell' apostle Peter.
The legend narrates that during a travel for sea, picked from an ugly Saint storm Peter was shipwrecked on the jonic coasts of the small village and, just, own where today there is beautiful Church dedicated to Saint Peter, than it is leaned to the sight tower.

anche io ho dei bei ricordi, ma purtroppo non ci posso andare più! mio zio ha una villa li vicino a franca villa fontana e da piccolino era la mia vacanza fissa! ma adesso è un bel sogno e nient'altro! :-( sono di legnano (MI)
