glue a piece of rubber on both sides of the clothes pin. The insides of the jaw that makes contact with the line, it may prevent the line from falling out of the clothes pin. Clever design

the problem with this 1 is, the clothes pin is very "slippy" and has issues due 2 ice build up in cold conditions
it actually works pretty good. The cloths pin holds the line just tight enough so that when a fish bites it will trigger the trap, but when the trap springs the line will pull out of the cloths pin. The cloths pin is under the water so it won't freeze (you have to glue some lead to it to make it sink). You do have to keep your hole cleared of ice tho.
