I think SA3 would be a great way to bring the series back. I think the story should take place after Sonic Chronicles which had the perfect set up for an epic story which the adventure games always had. Tails's gameplay should resemble SA more than SA2. You should be able to unlock extra characters and are able to play as them in the stages outside the story mode. Im sick of SEGA taking the easy road and making all sonic games the same. Take risks and go all out on the next.

@asdf1234857 definitely some good ideas u have accept i have some to add for each story i like the heroes and rivals but how about getting rid of espio and putting in jet as his own story, also only three characters per story with their own play style- sonic(speed) knuckles(fighting/werehog) and tails(levels like sonic just not as fast and flying) and same applies for all of the other stories shadow(speed), rouge(fly) omega (fight) silver(fight) blaze(speed) and can't think of a third flying yet
