  • Well as corporations take over they use one method to regain profit. Image.

Why do you think all the women on pretty much every news channel are models? They don't know anything, just what the teleprompter says.

  • Even when Max talks about derivatives he makes it sound exciting, brilliant, how does he do it?

  • It's not Yankee hubris, it's NeoCON lapdog schoolyard bully bravado.

Yankee hubris was against the banksters. Ben Franklin said:

"The colonies would gladly have borne the little tax on tea and other matters had it not been that England took away from the colonies their money... The inability of the colonists to get power to issue their own money permanently out of the hands of George III and the international bankers was the PRIME reason for the Revolutionary War."

  • mika2001 - that old yankee hubris just never learns

  • It´s more than just forgetting history... It´s the continous operation of an entirely contrafactual, quasi-religious ideology ("Americanism") on the populations minds. John McMurtry provides an excellent analysis of the representational deep structure of what he calls the "Ruling Group Mind" in "Understanding the 9-11 Wars" (available online as PDF).

  • That's true actually.

    From the canal in Panama.

    Diego Garcia.

Afghanistan and Iraq, these are all wars wages in separate times. And all of them to both 'restore democracy' and 'fight terror' (and emotion, for Gods sake). I especially don't like the way the media and politicians say "we RESTORED Democracy" in countries that didn't even have a democracy to begin with. Are people so quick to forget history?

  • I don´t even think "winning" is very important... Given the way the US system is structured war seems to be an end in itself... That´s the genius of the "War against Terror" - you can´t win against a tactic - ever.

  • Trust me mate, if America starts another war (as you so often do) you'll be hated worldwide. I guarantee you.

You will win, due to your crazy ass guns and laser tech, but you'll end up alone, isolated and morally corrupted.

  • o yeah? how do you know that? j/k...sounds smart.... i dont even know what your talking about but ill tell ya one thing. Down in Luchenbach, Texas no one is feelin any pain. ;)
