Please educate yourselves for yourself or for someone you know who may need, now or in the future, autoimmune suppressant steroid treatment... These are just some of the MOST COMMON issues that should be monitored bi-weekly to no less than MONTHLY! For some reason, many doctors are not aware of the urgency and importance of monitoring for these issues... This is part one of a three part series... You or three people you know WILL at some point be on autoimmune suppressant steroids.. A therapy that saves you, can and will take you if not administered and monitored properly. Please SHARE!

  • I have LEMS (Lambert-Eaton Syndrome, Neuromuscular) and was on 60mg Prednisone for 2 years (off now). I am now getting facial rashes and Docs are saying it's not Lupus because my ANA is neg. My face flares when I'm in the sun or after a hot shower...should I be concerned and maybe get more tests or a new doc? I also have Raynaud's and Thyroid disease. Can anybody help?

  • I'm sorry I was not able to respond sooner.. I have been offline for the past 5 months... how are you? Can you update me and I'll see if we can get any concerns you have answered? I hope you are doing better. M

  • What is considered high dose with steroids?

    And again, great video, thanks.

  • Hi.. good question! A maintenance dose is 5, 10, even 20 mgs... 20 is considered border high though... anything above that is high.. also, any maintenance dose whether it be 10 mgs for a length of time of 3 months or longer is considered high or in need of close monitoring for the things I mentioned and for the items discussed in the links in the description box. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions ok? Hope you're doing well. ~M

  • Very informative! Steroids are a double edged sword. Sounds like monitoring their use and using them as little as possible is the safest way to take advantage of of their powerful effect. Anything more starts getting more and more dangerous to the point they are more dangerous than your illness. What are the alternatives Michelle?

  • Thanks gsteviec. The alternatives are limited due to lack of research and awareness... However, there are medications and therapies such as chemo therapy and cellcept. Cellcept is much like chemo. When the disease is less severe there is plaquinil, and NSAIDs (Non Steroid Anti Inflammatory Drugs) to help control symptoms of the diseases. However, most people end up on steroids at some point even if only for a steroid dose pack but for more severe disease, steroids is it. We need more research

  • @sperrone26 You were on a very high dose,so often Prednisolone will have a long term effect on tissue and organs even though you havent taken for a couple of years,it does make tissue weak and thin and break down muscle results are worse on Asian skin, use a high skin block all the time and protect eyes from sunlight.

  • Babe, stop trusting doctors, they don't want to cure you. There is no money in the cure!

Auto immune Is caused by gut not having good bacteria. Good bacteria such as asidophalus lines the gut so no food can escape.

When food escapes the gut, it triggers an auto immune response in the body. The body becomes overwhelmed with so many different particles in the blood stream it can no longer differentiate between good and bad and begins to attack itself.
