John Edwards' latest television ad: "Twenty generations of Americans have left their children a better life. My dad worked in mills for 30 years to do it for us. Now corruption and corporate greed mean we could be the first generation to fail. I've spent my life fighting for families against big corporations that were crushing them. They trusted me with their lives, and I fought for them with everything I had. I'm John Edwards, and I approved this message because I want every American to be able to give their children a better life. That's the moral test of our generation."

  • I don't go on Ron Paul, Mike Gravel or Dennis Kucinich sites, tearing them down and calling them names, and, personally, I'm a bit tired of hearing about the CFR. John Edwards has admitted, repeatedly, that he was wrong on the Iraq war vote. He's absolutely different from Bush and he has a fighting chance to win this election.

  • Great Ad, and Message.

  • Edwards is NOT taking a dime from corporate lobbyists or PACs! He's the one talking about how foreign lobbyists have influenced bad trade deals for the U.S.!

  • As far as the 2nd Amendment....Edwards had TWO choices on what to call it (that was the whole idea of the question)...he CHOSE to call it a "privilege".

  • LIGO: Also, I already pay for welfare, medicare, medicaid, food stamps, govt housing, etc. After Univ Health Care, what's next? Let's pay the electric bill for every "poor" American?, Let's buy every "poor" American a car so they can go to work? There are county hospitals for the poor...it's not as though there's not any healthcare available to the poor.

  • This country has ALWAYS had rich, middle-class, and poor...this is not something new. The govt has chisled away at the income of hard-working Americans for years and it has to stop somewhere. 1/2 of my income is now longer enough....ridiculous.

  • Mr Edwards! you are real HERO for ordinary people, keep it that way and God Bless You and wonderful Elizabeth

  • friend, here's what happened. There's a hard way and an easy one. I want the easy one so I could save my energy for something bigger. I'm happy that you live a good life, raised 4 kids, God Bless You for that! How about kids from poor areas? white kids, black kids, lations? They need a chance too! They are part of America, just like you are. Only thing is they are poor.

  • my friend, the military shouldn't get involved in ground operations. The war in Irag should've been conducted the way military operations were run in Kosovo by general Wes Clark. We just need to bomb fuckers and then demand they surrender. If there're no ground operations then all we need is professional military pilots. Missles, Bombers, Submarines - that's how a war should be fought. ONE DEATH OF A GI IS WAY TOO MUCH, WAY TOO MUCH!!!

  • LIGO: You sound relieved to know that our military would protect you. Yet, at the EXACT same time, you think kids should choose college instead of military AND at the the EXACT same time, you support a dem who is not very big on defense.

  • LIGO: Secondly, how could you actually call yourself a republican and then support these lib ideas? Healthcare & College for everyone...my ass. Whatever happened to earning your own way thru life? I notice you're 21. I have 4 kids & 50% of my income is gone in taxes. If a dem gets in, I'll work more for the govt than my own family. That's near communism in my book....

  • LIGO: Those were your words: "college for everyone so our kids won't have to die for iraqi, irani.." The only thing that could have meant is that getting a college education & a "good" job is better than joining the military.
