A quick video to show you whats in the box.
There are a few extras in there, I picked to have the long 9.5 feet whips, the 16 feet mast, the 50 feet long coax assembly and the counterpoise kit for when I use the Buddipole in the vertical mode.
A huge thanks to Chris - W6HFP and Budd - W3FF for personalising my kit and congratulations having created such a well engineered portable antenna with such an attention to detail.
Don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out on the next BuddiPole video coming soon

  • I think I saw a wire counterpoise and holder...did you order that in addition or did it come with the kit? If I order the deluxe kit I would like to be able to set it up as a vertical also but think I will need several extra parts. I had some hams tell me to save the money and just get the buddistick package..what do you think? Would I be ok with only the buddistick? and save the extra money. The buddipole kit is expensive. Thanks, Steven N4KTZ

  • @n4ktz Hi Steven

I ordered the longer counterpoise as an add on to the Buddipole deluxe package, you can still use the Buddipole as a vertical as the VersaTee has a terminal in the top, so all you'll need is the counterpoise to able to use it in the buddistick formation.

As to "will you be ok with just the buddistick" I've used it as a vertical only maybe a dozen times, I had great results but I tend to always go for the dipole setup which I have had amazing(EPIC) results with.

  • First, take out the manual ... then toss it aside. LOL

I checked out a friend's HF rig and Buddipole setup tonight. Think I'm going to buy one for myself after his demonstration. We were in a bad spot, surrounded by tall buildings, and still got out pretty well.

  • @corelane Its a great antenna, I would never sell mine as i've had such great results with it.

Its like the Lego of the antenna world.

    All the best

  • @craig3008 The advantages.

Its not as long as a 102 foot G5RV, No ATU needed as its possible to get an exact match from 2m to 40m (80meters as well with home brew elements).

Its rotational. It can be a vertical.. it can be a turned into a yagi..

I can put the supplied holdall over my shoulder and ride my motorbike easily.

The price is the only negative I can see really. its not just all talk, this antenna is a performer and proves itself every time I use it another 3,500 mile + today on 2.5w

  • @craig3008 Hi Craig3008

Hmm, You do have to adjust the coils to jump between bands but the fine tuning is done with the whips.

I've put the 3 coil clips per coil plus the extras that are free in the package on so that its as simple as just unplugging the jumper from one clip to the other to change bands.

It takes about the same time time to setup i.e about 10 minutes to get the air, It comes in a compact sausage shape bag which quite small I though as it has a 16 foot mast in it. ran out of ch
