Me and a homie are writing a song to this beat, so it'll be done in a week or so if you want to peep it.
keep up brotha.

You got mad skills, If you left the "remake" part out, I would place my money that this was the original.

@gutting3 U did a good work man ;)

And i just saw your reply about that beat, thanks though! I felt pretty proud of it back when I created it, I stayed up for the whole night and just pounded it out.

it wouldn't let me post the link actually... it's youtube.com /watch?v=wxFV3udkjUk

Thanks for the advice man. This is the very last question I swear haha.... this is a beat that I really like and have always tried to break down and understand how it was created. How do producers get a sound like the one in this beat to play in the background behind the voice chops nonstop throughout a track? The repeating sound which basically makes up the whole beats melody. /watch?v=wxFV3udkjUk
Is that some random chop that kept getting pushed every bar?
-
Totally man. If you check out my channel, you can find some random short tracks I made from sampling and other sources. I mostly did it last year for fun but never got that good at it but am really inspired to get better because a huge part of my life is hip-hop. If you check out my Long Time track I used the same sample as Premier did for that Boom beat for Royce da 59, but its a 100% different feel and melody like you said.
Got any advice for getting back in the game and learning
Idk if you ever check these comments, but if you do I had a question I've been wondering for a while.
How did you do this? Did you just search for the original sample and take clips from the original track with the lyrics for other parts of the beat or something? It sounds good and I'm just wondering how you did it

@cKunke2 haha sorry man i rarely check the comments, but yea i just chopped up the original tracks and pieced them together and then found some drums from my kits that sounded similar and put them in

Oh thats sweet. So for hip-hop producers that sample for their beats, is it basically just finding the samples that makes the process hard? Because unless your like a professional producer I'm impressed with how spot on this sounds. Exile is a pretty respected producer it seems like and you just completely recreated one of his finest beats (in my opinion).

@cKunke2 Finding samples is definitely the hardest part. You always want to find songs that have never been sampled so you have to dig a lot, but a ton of songs have been sampled more than once. It all depends on the way you sample and chop the song and it can sound totally different from the way somebody else sampled it for a beat. Im no pro, just a lot of practice. Knowing a lot about the history of music helps too. Just do a lot of research on good producers and the artists they sampled.

@gutting3
a lot more about the art of beats and how to get better and get good sounds? Sorry for so many stupid questions but thanks for your time

@cKunke2 No problem man Im always willing to talk about music. Since I started college this year i never have time to make beats but hopefully this summer i will be able to get back into it like you. I can tell that you listen to real hip-hop which is a good start and your Long Time track is really good. What program do you use? If you use fl studio the best way to get good drums/sounds is to sample them or download some good kits. The best way to get drums is to sample drum breaks from songs.
gutting3 11 months ago
@cKunke2 You can either sample the whole break or chop the kicks, snares, and hi hats individualing to make your own drum beat. As for getting good sound just mess around with things like the eq, compression, reverb, and things like that. Practice a lot and mess around with stuff and listen to producers beats and then the original sample and figure out how they chopped it up and what drum breaks and stuff they sampled. Research the artist they sample from and do a lot of digging.
