  • @Savauge25 It makes it so that when you cut it you don't have one giant piece of left over griptape, you have 4 smaller pieces which are easier to handle.

    It's just for convenience.

  • @Savauge25 sometimes people like to cut in sections, and makes cutting it in sections easier.

  • notice how he cuts the griptape towards himself... worn out hands, and soon a big cut...

  • @Savauge25 when you cut slits, you have less resistance against the grip when scoring, making it easier
