My elderly father stated a few year back,that he had seen two main groups of anti-gun people - those that knew they should be shot and inmature spoiled elitist who have no self control and assume all others can not be near as god like as they are -I do now believe all anti-gun people show them selves to be unfit to own guns.

Chucky -If you go by your standard that if we take away guns. We must then take away knives, baseball bats, all gardening tools and on and on! Where would it stop. I have heard this stupid reply to gun control many times - GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEAD! If you take away guns from honest law abiding US citizens then you leave the criminals with all the guns! CRIMINALS DON'T CARE ABOUT THE LAW - that is why they are criminals!! Criminals get guns (all types) no matter what the laws say Wise up dude!!!

Then you should probably use your own intelligence and not buy a firearm. It's really not that complicated, you are under not legal obligation to own, buy, or even look at a firearm.

I'm a gun owner and I have never hurt anyone with my guns. In fact, I have taught many people how to shoot using my guns and I have taught people how to properly and safelt handle firearms with my guns. So technically, I educated people with my guns and made them... safer? Hmm... There's a thought. I actually helped people be safer around guns by using my guns as an example of how to safely handle them... It is called responsability. Guns just don't have it. PEOPLE however, do.

That doesn't make sense? If you have a compleatly open border where you can't control anything, then you can easily smuggle guns, drugs, and people into this country at will.

Well, I don't know if someone has brought this up and I'm not about to go through all the comments to see. But the answer to that is two fold; liberals don't want you to have a gun because in their view guns produce violence, they kill people. Self defense does not occur to them. That's what they police are for they say. But the police show up to draw an outline around the body. Leftists don't want you to have a gun because an unarmed populace is easier to control. The areas with the most stringent gun control laws have the highest crime rates. Psychos don't go to gun stores to go spree killing, they go to malls and schools because they're 'Gun Free Zones,' also known as "free fire zones." Gun control doesn't affect bad guys. They don't go to gun stores. They go to black market sources. And if they're bad guys, why are they going to care if some idiot politician tell them they can't have a gun?
