New Chris Cornell song called Long Gone off his upcoming album Scream, produced by Timbaland.

*update Jan 2009 - the new record now has a release date of March 10 in the USA and March 9 in Europe. Hopefully it will actually be released this time.....

Some people are complaining they don't like Chris making music like this, but I say chill out! It's kind of like going to a new restaurant and trying something new you never tried before! If you just want more of the same simply hit loop on your Soundgarden or Audioslave CD's, otherwise let the man grow and change as a musician.

I found a pretty good quality audio rip and removed the Ryan Seacrest promo's from the beginning and the end of the song, but the ones in the middle of the song can't be removed by my novice skills. Enjoy!

I allowed myself to be swayed by the critics at first, and just panned this album. Then I listened to it in the background a second time, and then a third, and each time I heard more and more that kept me coming back. I think this is one of Chris Cornell's better songs, and think the material on this album is stronger than the stuff on either of his previous solo albums.

So I say to heck with the critics. Listen to what you like.

did any of you realize that in his chorus of singing "cause im long gone, long gone" that it sounds like alvin and the chipmunks are singing it.  oh and ya hate the ryan secrest ads and the rock version completely blows this crap out of the water

lol alvin and the chipmunks! Chris' voice is high but I don't know about THAT high! Anyway this was a radio rip about a month before you could buy the song off itunes, thus the ryan seacrest bit. Anyway ya I agree the rock version much better.
