Roughly at 11:15 PM an unoccupied new house on the southwest corner of 22nd Avenue and 55th Street in Kenosha, Wisconsin was destroyed in a huge blast. A suspected gas leak is believe to be the cause of the violent explosion.

Several homes received extensive damage and windows were blown out for blocks. Atlas Gym and Michelle's Auto Sales were also heavily damaged.

There are reports of the house explosion being heard as far away as University of Wisconsin Parkside Campus 4 miles away. 911 calls were so plentiful the phone lines were tied up.

This video was recorded moments after the explosion on a Flip UltraHD Video Camera.

  • i broke all my neighbors windows and blamed it on the explosion

  • @TheGringoLoco No, I didn't delete any posts at all. I never referred to it as a methane lab other than informing people that it was not a meth lab period. From the beginning I had stated it was a gas leak. You need to really start reading names correctly. I never once said it was a methane lab nor did I refer to it as a methane lab, nor did I delete any posts. Way to make yourself look like even more of an idiot.

  • My bad, not the utility or builder's fault...I just looked at further info posted a few months later...Evidently, someone broke in and stole the gas supply lines in the basement, leaving the gas to leak unstoppered...

  • Thank the maker the home was unoccupied @ the time...Gives you something to think about the infrastructure of some of these multimillon dollar utilities, though...
