"I've seen them all" is a pretty bold statement, and one which is almost NEVER true. Here is one clip of a random HBCU program, and suddenly your band is the only one that cares about musical elements outside of dynamics. I respect your opinion as something based on your own limited experiences. But one bandsman to another would advise that you try not to over-generalize this craft, especially with the main source of comparison being the internet.

I've seen them all and to be honest, that is still the impression i get. no one does dynamics or adds emotion or anything outside the box. people just do whats on the page and im not used to that

Have you seen other HBCU programs? If not it is unfair for you to make that assumption. Although I can agree with this to some extent. If you have ever seen BCU, FAMU, SCSU, or NSU Volume is not the primary goal.

well thats good that you didn't pick Hampton because of their music program but the fact that some people pick their schools base on what band they would like to be apart of.
