@markhinr No, actually the Colsac II had 3 lanes and carried 12 cars. The Colsac III has 3 lanes but carries 15 cars. Sorry, I grew in Merrimac and visit quite frequently and a lot of people ask me about it

That's right. This is the third vessel in use since the state has been operating the free ferry at Merrimac. If I remember correctly, the Colsac II only had 2 lanes and carried 8 cars.

Colsac II made first trip of the season today, March, 24, 2009.
We'd love to see a longer video of the Merrimac ferry if you have time to make one. Your's is the only MF video I found on YouTube that isn't poor resolution or accompanied by incongruous background music. Your video is best except it ends before boarding the ferry. You were probably being a safe driver. :-)

Just stay at Moon Valley Resort, get fucked up at night, and watch the ferry on the cable TV. Can't get cheaper entertainment than that.

Wow I remember Colsac ferry from lodi to merrimac.
We used to go to lodi area several times each summer and LOVED to ride the ferry!! Post more if you have more.

I used to Live in Dane went to school in Lodi and we used to ride the ferry a lot in the summertime! and miss the A&W there on 113 on south side of Lodi the bus stopped there on last day of school...couldn't get enough of that Draft rootbeer!
