I think Burmese people could care less whether the country is called Myanmar or Burma. It is inconsequential. You need to understand that Burma is a name given by the British when they colonized Burma, there are a lot of ethnicities in Myanmar, and there is a lot of oppression towards the minorities. the majority is called "Burman", the ruling military are Burman. So it is arguable that they changed the name to make the country seem less exclusive.

There are two things that we can do even when goverments do nothing. One, never estimate the power of concentrated prayer from around the world. Two, stop buying Chinese things and boycott the Olympics. If loudly done around the world by an internet pass it on, peaceful resistance will prevail.
