The 350Z originally used the V8 TVR sounds from GTL. Since this is a V6 car, I decided to fix that.

Edit: This was done a long time ago, and it was the first, and worst. sound mod I ever did. I've since made many more sound mods with quality more on par with the GT500 engine/supercharger sounds, but I decided to not release my work publicly anymore due to thievery.

  • I've released the new 350Z Sound mod over at Nogrip. They're developed from brand new master samples and incorporate some new editing techniques I've learned. Head on over to nogrip and givem' a whirl.

  • Well done. I agree, so how do I load these sounds into the Game?? Very authentic, good job.

  • The sound mod comes with a readme file that has installation instructions. But all you need to do is replace the original files with the ones from the mod, or you can change their names by one character and modify the .aud file so you can have the old ones backed up, though, like I mentioned before, there's really no point. V8 sounds for a 350Z is just weird.

  • I'm actually releasing new ones soon. I was able to acquire some nice long on-throttle samples. It sounds so much better. Much less flat sounding than these ones.

  • o well, u did watever u could...

  • That would not achieve the realistic sound I'm looking for. I use Sony Vegas Audio/Video editor, so I have all the tools needed in order to modulate these sounds as much as anyone could. There just wasn't a sample good enough for me to use to get that deep, growly note that the 350z tends to have with aftermarket exhaust.

  • These engine sounds are being updated. I aquired the samples I need in order to achieve the growly on-throttle note that was lacking in this version. Keep your eyes peeled guys, they should be released soon.

  • just put it in Audcity and add more bass...its not hard

  • The samples I used are indeed from a real 350Z. It sounds faint because of the way the samples have to be processed in order to play properly in the game. I only had one sample of a Z being loaded on the dyno, which unfortunately wasn't enough to produce the deeper, on-throttle note you're talking about. I do plan on improving these in the future.

  • sorry but i have a Z and that barely sounds like a real Z... too faint sounding, the Z has a deeper tone to it

  • You can find the 350z Sound mod over at the nogrip site. Make sure to back up your sounds if you want to switch back to them in the future, though I doubt you'll want to. The stock sounds suck.
