Obama Admission to Letterman: His 9/11 plan no guarantee!

Just after a minute into this clip, Obama makes the startling admission that the plan he would have used in response to 9/11 would not have guaranteed we would not have been attacked again! This is fairly amazing, considering Bush's plan did prevent a second attack.

And here is an addition, because many are missing the point: In this clip, Obama is directly comparing his hypothetical plan, which would have started after 9/11, to a plan (Bush's) which actually worked. Put another way, in your heart-of-hearts, if you could go back in time, would you substitute this man's plan for the plan which saved us an attack? I think the answer is obviously, "no". And if not, then you must ask yourself if you trust him with the next plan. Gerrit.

Anyway, I didn't "get" anything from what he said... thanks to Youtube, you can hear that it is exactly what he said. He said his plan would have been better than Bush's (which, as I've said, did work), and that he nonetheless knew that his plan would not be guaranteed. It is an odd position to put himrself in... "Yes, I know you won the lottery, but you should have used MY numbers, instead".

you're a moron. there's no such thing as a guarantee that terrorism will not happen again. there is no way to be 100% safe. there is only becoming MORE secure. anyhow, there is often not one right after the other. there were eight and a half years between the two attacks on the world trade center. it's only been seven years since the last one.

I think all the partisanship you got in these comments is just sad. The fact of the matter is, Obama talks diplomacy, everyone else talks security. I'd feel safer if everyone liked us again rather than feel secure because we have more guns on the ground than everyone else. Obama is our best bet for president period. Read the 9/11 commission's recommendations, and count the number that have actually been implemented, and then compare Bush's record to Obama's plan. I hate to break it to you, but we are by no means safe, and Obama's plan would make us much safer.

If the fear of terrorism is the reason you vote republican, then you have fear issues that you need to deal with. There is not a "sure-fire" plan to prevent terrorism other than martial law. Where everyone is a number, and controlled. Similar to slavery and the holocaust. With that in mind you notice that the one that tries to prevent terror usually becomes the terrorist himself.
