Part of Ginsberg's epic poem "Howl" where he foresaw saw destructive forces of capitalism and conformity in the United States. It is one of the classic poems of the Beat Generation.

"Moloch whose Soul is electricity and banks!"
"Moloch whose Poverty is the specter of Genius"
"Moloch whose fate is a cloud of sexless hydrogen"
"Moloch whose name is the Mind. Robot apartments"
...

Taken from Howl movie (2010, Directed by Rob Epstein, Jeffrey Friedman)

  • Moloch vs. Gaia, that's the 21st century in a nutshell. Well, Moloch can't win. . .But I have sympathy for Moloch, I guess because i'm a city boy. even Ginsberg said, "Holy the angel in Moloch"

  • @jonnyhatter35 Good point... Hard to live with him (Moloch), and even harder without it....

  • Moloch is not the city. The city can live without Moloch. Moloch must be destoryed. The city must not.

  • They need to change the name of the Dept. of Defense to the Dept. of Moloch
