The elusive missing music cue from the Star Trek: The Motion Picture CD soundtrack!
When Jerry Goldsmith composed the music for the first Star Trek motion picture in 1979, he also did a truly haunting version of the original television series theme music, originally composed by Alexander Courage, which was used in the movie underneath the various captain's logs read by Captain Kirk.
This track has been missing from all subsequent soundtrack CD releases of the movie, at Goldsmith's request. But here it is, untampered, in all its glory!
I looked for this for a while, but didn't even know what to search for. Where did this recording come from?

Which one is this? The one right before Decker shows Ilia around the lounge?

Why isn't this on the soundtrack? It's so awesome.
