UPDATE 3rd Aug 2010... PLEASE VISIT http://bit.ly/bcfCOJ

I have transferred all my components to a new case, Coolermaster HAF X........

I am very happy with this case, excellent air flow, well built and loads of room.

I have installed:
2x Coolermaster MegaFlow 200mm (red) at the top, re-routing USB 3.0 cables.
1x Noctua NP-12 120mm fan between optical drives and fan controller.
3x Noctua NP-14 140mm fans (2 on CPU cooler, 1 at the rear of case)

So far:

PRO's:
Better cooling/airflow than my previous case (Cosmos S)
More room, good for future XL-ATX motherboards and USB 3.0.
The HDD/SSD are very easily changeable, compared to Cosmos S, when they were in a cage/box, which took some time to remove.
Much more space for cable management.
Quieter than Cosmos S.
Painted inside

NEUTRAL:
Some may not like the side fan, blocking the view, although its not as bad as I though it would be, and you get the extra cooling.
The GPU Duct (not installed) only fits some GPU's due to the 6 or 8 pin cables.

CONS:
There is no 5.25" to 3.5" adapter for a card reader (unlike the Cosmos S).
If you install a second 200mm fan on top-front, the USB 3.0 cables need to be re-routed in between the two fans on top (No biggie)

Thanks for watching!

  • @muzens wow, thanks a lot for that vid! i also have a nh-d14 (on a i7-870@4.0ghz) and a single gtx 470 and i wasn't sure if that case would be just TOO big for that but it really looks adequate. some extra space sure doesn't hurt...

  • @Ashmodai Thank you, I am very happy with the HAF X. Please watch the update video of the case to see it when finished. I like the idea of having a larger case should I need it later on, with room for more GPU's and an E-ATX motherboard.

  • @muzens yes, i already saw it... really nice! the stock 200mm fans in the side and on top are non-LED ones, right? which ones did you use in the top?

  • @Ashmodai The top and side are non-LED when stock, I replaced them all with "CoolerMaster MegaFlow Mega Flow 200mm Red LED Case Fan". The only stock fan that has LED's is the front intake (red). Hope this helps.

  • @Daemon247 Thanks, this case is probably the best for air cooling. If you are looking at liquid cooling, people have suggested the Corsair 800D.

  • did you see any change in temps by replacing the 120mm fan on the noctua with a 140mm?

either way it does look cool.

  • @MoochoMocho I did not use the Noctua with the 120mm, as soon as it arrived I installed the 140mm fans, so cant tell you, sorry. Either way I am sure it still performs very well ;)
