This was taken from the top of Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County, California. It sure looks like they're flying for the pure joy of it.

  • I've seen this kinda behavior with murders of crows. they like to play games and do sports from tree to tree. no joke. there is even a hirearchy among crows and if you listen really close to them you can tell who the oldest most respected crow is. amazing lil' buggers.

  • You sound like a birding pro (muders of crows). How are groups of differnt birds named? I believe a group of Turkey Vultures are called a "kettle". I just call them TV's..I like watching TVs not TV. They fly like a kettle boiling up over the sky.

  • me a pro? naw, just an old saying...Crows always get a bad rep. when there is a huge number of crows, people refer to them as a "murder of crows" weird huh? I use to Landscaping. so I got to spend alot of time outdoors and just dig in the dirt and watch them every week, it was great.

  • no they are tying to mate, jeez

  • Yes! I certainly think they are doing their duet for the pure joy of it -and it was like a duet, an aerial ballet. great vid. Mt. Tamalpias is an awesome place to hike around and enjoy the sights & wildlife
