@LegOmnius he wasn't offered a contract from the Leafs so he retired. He was told they were heading in a different direction.

Sundin is the latin word for underrated. What a fucking beast he was on the ice Better then Forsberg? No. More valuable for the team? Hell yes.

That;s not true... they traded him because they had to rebuild the leafs..the leafs were not even close to being a stanley cup team and Mats sundin was getting to the point of his career where he was going to retire soon..so they traded him because it was best for the team and so they could stock up future draft picks and prospects to build new leaf franchise.

The best thing is that he i from sweden, he comes from a club called Djurgarden. He is now sitting in the board for djurgarden, and helping his motherclub.

if he gets booed by leaf fans when the canuks come in there thats just classless. This guy poured his heart and soul out for toronto for 15 bloody years.
