  • 1:43 what happens is that the varioglide you pull??

  • Varioglide....no. It is just the flaps cord. Using the flaps is essential for normal flight and full flaps for landing. Releasing the flaps increases your glide and rapidly increases your airspeed, almost like going full VG on a topless.

  • Hey, nice video in a great landscape! I was two times in NZ but not for hanggliding , only for trekking. Look at my videos from Germany (Flatland)

    Greetings Manni

  • Thanks Manni, Raglan is a super easy site to top land which makes it ideal for first flights on a new glider. You'll have to come to NZ to fly next time. I watched your videos and they are very cool, especially flying with other atoses, there are only 4 in all of NZ and i'm the only one in the North Island.

  • I too have a VQ. I have 48 hrs after a year. I got my first 100 miler XC in April. Check out my videos, (fast6fan) screen name. Have fun. Miller Stroud USA

  • Thanks Miller, i've subscribed to your video's for a while now and studied your VQ videos alot while i was waiting for mine to arrive. Your videos are awesome but i guess you are giong into winter now!!! Do you fly in winter ???

  • @Carbonkiwi cool. i love the shape of the atos gliders. i have a aeros target, so no vg or flaps for me just yet.

  • We fly in the winter but not as often. Mostly ri dge lift in the mountains. This comming spring we are going for the Tennessee distance record now at 135 miles. Should be very possable to do.

  • Thanks, again !! :-)

  • I've commented about how much I enjoy your vids before.

After watching almost every hang gliding video on YouTube, I can say yours give me a much better sense of flying. I suspect it is because the wing at the top of the screen is telling me more about bank angle and nose up or down attitude.

Thanks again for posting these vids

    regards,
