France 1979 - Christy Caro - L'hiver est le plus chaud

France recorded 2 semi finals to help select their Eurovision entry in 1979 but due to an industrial dispute, they were never broadcast and the song that represented France at Eurovision that year was selected internally from the 14 semi finalists. This was one of those semi finalists. The eventually song chosen was 'Je suis l'enfant soleil' sung by 1973 Eurovision Song Contest winner Anne Marie David, who went on to finished 3rd in the 1979 Eurovision SOng Contest.

It was Recorded. If the programme had been broadcast, then the viewers would have been able to vote for their favourite song by post. .

Since there was a strike, the programmes were not shown on tv in 1979

The semi finals were recorded but , because if a strike in French television, the shows were never broadcast. So a jury watched the 2 semifinals and chose the French entry internally.
