This is the third clip from a possible video release showcasing the living history program at the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Halifax is one of several cities worldwide that still fires a daily noon gun. This clip was shot in early May, 2008. The uniforms and drill date from the late 1860s.

@Simo84844 During a battle they would of course skip a lot of the formality. The orders would be shortened, and they wouldn’t need to reposition the gun as often – depending on their target. In this segment you saw the men pausing and waiting to be given orders. During a battle the orders would be more direct and the commander of the battery wouldn’t be giving orders to just one gun, he’d be giving orders to an entire battery, so there’d be a lot less micro management and more speed.

I remember firing that back in summer 1995, 96 and during the winter and spring.
Ah, I miss being at the Citadel, but I`m a teacher in Japan now. Remember Rocky?
