In part one of this three-part video series focusing on our Digital DJing with Traktor Pro, Dubspot Instructor and 2x DMC Champ DJ Shiftee demonstrates a live performance routine using Native Instruments' powerful Traktor Kontrol S4 software and hardware DJ system. As Shiftee states in the intro of this video, the primary goal of our Digital DJing program at Dubspot is to teach fundamental DJ techniques and skills such as beat-matching and blending two songs, as well as expose students to crucial party-rocking tips and tricks, while utilizing some of today's most cutting-edge performance and DJ technology. Using the S4's versatile and powerful audio recording and processing features, Shiftee creates a live edit of hip hop classic "The Choice Is Yours (Revisited)" by Black Sheep and seamlessly blends it into "Ain't No Half Steppin'" by Big Daddy Kane. Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3 as he breaks down the performance.

  • i would show her how to DJ too

  • I love how this lets you make your own sound as a dj opposed to playing other peoples track find this way more fun to do and to listen to than a dj that just knows how to mix tracks. Love the series!

  • this guys sucks

  • I'm not sure why there's a debate regarding teaching art. I say anything that helps you lose confusion is good... how many times have we all given up on something because we were confused and had no one to turn to for answers?

  • realy hate it when dj's ruin realy good mixes by talking over it

  • Lol and he's supposed to be teaching people.

  • @DoctorIncredible i am actually with numbmuzik art can't be teached but also not against u, techniques can be teached but mainly techniques related to the software tricks not music itself that help more but actually if sumone don have the talent if u gave him 10000000000 course they won't help :)

  • how do you conect the mic?

    on live input?

  • @assais then YOU are a shit DJ.. a good dj can get down with all types of music. There's something to learn from everything.

  • @NumbMuzik while I somewhat agree, I think "you cannot teach art" is a poor argument... there is TONS of art schools that can teach TECHNIQUE about painting, sculpting, playing an instrument... it is then up to the student to apply the techniques and add their own creativity to create the "ART" of it...
