  • Yeah on their best behaviour in france but made up for it when in sussex, totally ravaged the south coast

  • I doubt it was bad weather that stopped the normans from invading, there is a popular rumor that william deliberately delayed the advance of his fleet so that while in stamford bridge the norsemen and saxons were fighting he could land unopposed

  • @WarSmurfs Well from what I see It does not look like a galley to me. Galleys had a Hammer at the bottom and a Usually had a ballista at the front. And in the video those boats look like longboats (video error). Also Galleys had eyes painted in on the outer hull. Plus galleys were used in Greek-Romano times like you said. In Medieval times from what I understand, only the Italians used them.

  • @Bl00DN00B Those wern't longboats in the video, those where galleys. And galleys where widely used since ancient greek times. It's a simple but effective design. War Cogs , as the name applies, are war ships, not transport ships. I'm pretty sure the normans implied galleys or carvels around that for transporting and trade.

  • @GaryTotalWar Yes but the Normans had War Cogs, not Longboats.

  • 9 minutes into the 4th video is the battle of hastings

  • @incedius420 they are to stop coastal errosion

  • What are the pillings on the beach at 4:15 for?

  • should have got the eurostar

  • @Grimrippa1 no wolf dragon or raven head so its not a viking warship

  • Why are Normans sailing in Viking ships?

  • The jews run England now
