"That's What Friends Are For", written by Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager and recorded by Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder in 1985, as a charity single, a benefit for American Foundation for AIDS Research. The song went to # 1 in January of 1986 and remained there for four weeks.

In this clip from late 1985, Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight reprise the hit song joined by the writers, Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer-Sager.

  • @huzzlekoo I am also a former Detroiter. I luv sneaking into the 20 grand before I was 21 and seeing all the Motown gang there. I have fond memory of Detroit. So much have change to the city, but fond memory, I remember seeing Nina Simone, and Yusef Lateef live at the Baker Keyboard. Talking going down memory lane.
