  • This is a great song and great video. Happy Birthday to Mike Rutherford who turns 59. In fact, he wrote the lyrics to this track (not Phil as everyone else thinks). I get sad watching this video when I think how MTV used to show great things like this (plus Pink Floyd, Rush, The Who, Led Zeppelin and so forth) and then around 1995 began its death.

  • MTV died with the 1996 VMAs. That had the original lineup of Van Halen properly reunited for one night only (David Lee Roth, Michael Anthony, Eddie and Alex Van Halen) before egos ruined it. Plus KISS (the original four of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley) closed with their performance of "Rock and Roll All Night". The '86 VMAs was still my favorite as both Van Halen (with Sammy Hagar fronting) and Genesis played live via satellite from New Haven and London respectively.

  • Where was the indoor area shots? I know the outdoor venue is old Exhibition Stadium in Toronto.

  • @SG55OVCam Hmmmm, 6 miles of petrol,, how would I get home!!

    Jay Kay, lead singer (well, the only singer/person) in jamiroquai.

  • @SG55OVCam: You should go for a ride one weekend with six miles of petrol in your tank (get me an autograph while you're there please.)

    Jay Kay? never heard of him - he hasn't made the big time down here (yet).

  • @nighthawk006phoenix Rumour has it that Phil Collins has a home 6 miles away from me Nh6, but so has Jay Kay.

    I know which one I would prefer to talk to hey!

  • awesome upload! forget the 240p ;

  • just throwing it all away.. memories are so many

  • Genesis hit #4 in Billboard, 10-11-86. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Happy retirement, Phil Collins!

  • @floydgenesisnut I agree that this was at the time that MTV was hitting a peak and afterwards was down hill. this song was popular my senior year of high school and its one of my favorite Phil Collins songs!

  • I love this song. Words cannot explain.
