This shows the dismantling of my Front Load Washer. I purchased it 7 years ago and it has already failed and will end up in a landfill. How can this company expect to be green when the products they make are disposable and worthless within seven years?

  • I'm a technical frigidaire. Your problem, if you don't take a he soap and you put most 1 once : that's the result.

  • @billo00 I used HE soap and a very small amount.

  • Great video production value. Hey, you got $300 off after 7 years. Nothing lasts forever.

  • @gordongmilleriii The $300.00 off was as good as I could expect.

I think my point is that the companies are trying to promote "Green" with front load using less water, yet the machines are disposable after 7 years. The steel can be recycled but all the other "e-waste" is negating the Green benefits on a renewable resource (Water). A simple design change would have eliminated the spider arm corrosion.

  • I also want to add, take in to consideration water quality in your regional area, if you have hard water, that could have also contributed to the premature corrosion. Yes, that spider is made of a cast aluminum composite metal, most likely mixed with tin. When mounted to the Stainless steel drum, you get a battery type reaction! However, your water quality may have sped up the deterioration.

We have had a water softener in use since Day 1

  • From what I've seen, most front-loaders APPEAR to be built this way. It's a recipe for failure: aluminum and stainless steel will undergo galvanic reaction in the presence of an ionic solution like tap water. Even distilled water has a slightly acidic pH at the temps typically encountered in the washer, and will cause dissimilar metals corrosion. Detergents will create a strong alkaline solution, and also cause dissimilar metals corrosion. Then there's chlorine and fluorine in tap water....

  • @rubin808 If 100 flights left JFK and the airline said only 70 will make it to the end would you find that acceptable?

  • HE SOAP and 1 once max.

  • frigidaire really does suck i bought a washer and dryer 2 years ago and i also went for the lifetime warranty but they have had to come out and repair many different things about every 4 months and now they just say their done helping us. they wont repair it the arent nice and now i have a washer that wont run and a dryer that destroys all my clothes

  • i have all of you beat ? i work @ a trailer park. i've been trying figure why all Frigidaire have dying about 13 in 2 years nuff said?lowes / electrolux was offering incentives to their sales staff now i know why. been all over the to fix this/these problems. only fix is to not buy Frigidaire/Electrolux.

hope the best for them and shame on'em

  • I have a frigidaire front loader that only uses 12 gallons of water for the entire cycle on heavy load, extra rinse, that's ridiculous, the water coming out at the end of the rinse looks cloudy, these green idiots at consumer reports and the FTC are screwing these things up with their over zealous focus on efficiency, if you are going to buy one of these things, look for the one that uses the most water, commercial models work fine, the models bragging about efficiency will not clean.

  • I also bought a new French Gallery Frig. About $2000 plus a $200 extensive Guarantee. We have had 9 different probs in ten months. The main being a temperature discrepancy between a deceptive door readout of 33 degrees and the internal of 45-55 very unsafe for food storage. We are getting as many as possible together for a class action suite for their quality. Let me know if you'd like to join in. We have a group on Facebook called "Frigidaire(R) Sux" Feel free to join us, or ganerd@yahoo.com

  • I appreciate the video and now understand that although the situation may seem futile, at least with some complaining I might still be able to recoupe some of the money spent on my now 4 year old washer.

Surprising how I'm not really concerned being the thrifty guy I normally am.

Maybe this has to do with the fact that I know I must of washed 1200 to 1500 heavy loads with the maching with absolutely no complaint. I MEAN WE ALL WOULD LIKE SOMETHING TO LAST FOREVER BUT THE TRUTH IS IT WON'T

  • Try this link for a bearing problem which I think this guy had...???? I am NOT a repair guy and I don't know the person with the link below.. Just trying to help others out is all. youtube.com/watch?v=K4AeUy1V6Vg&feature=fvwp&NR=1
