can you have the almininum spider arm poswer coated - or put a barrier between the parts BEFORE thr corrosion begins?

I have the same problem - and the steel/aluminum issue is design 101. I belive it is planned obsolescence.

ahhh yet another frigidaire failure... I used to work for te company in the 90's and got one of these neat new machines in 1998 when they were fairly new.. I ran it for about 4 years and lost the tub bearing.... 5 years later bearing noise again and matching dryer motor locked.. tstat didnt kill heater... smoke filled the house.. had i not been home my house wouldve burnt down.. electrolux didnt care when I called.. so I bought a new LG set in 2007... no more frigidaire for me

I've been in the commercial industry for 7 yrs now and have handled quite a few of these washers and I have personally never seen the rear spider just fall apart like that. Of course I've seen bearings wear out but the one that I own is 9 years old and still runs like new.

I wonder if all Frigidaire front loaders have this spider problem. I saw another YouTube video of a different model but supposedly also Frigidaire drum where the spider has corroded too. The house I live in uses a Frigidaire front loader. I hope it doesn't have this kind of failure!
