Sweet sixteen sees the debut of my very first DOCTOR WHO video!

I loved the Fifth Doctor. From "Castrovalva" through "Caves of Androzani", Peter Davison was always MY Doctor (still is, in fact). So when I got into making videos, I swore that one day I'd do a DW vid, and it had to include him.

"Caves of Androzani" remains one of my all-time favorite episodes from the series, and I still lament that just as Peter was truly hitting his stride as the Doctor, it was over. And I cried at the end to see him leave. But he really couldn't have gotten a better story to go out with.

When I discovered Brand X Music, I was astonished at how versatile and incredible it was - "Captivate" was SCREAMING to have a video done to it, and after a few false starts about what I'd use it for, I was rewatching CoA and voila, there it was.

Like my other videos, this one is tagged as Samuraiko Productions, for those who follow my work. Enjoy!

(If you like my stuff, swing by the SAMURAIKOPRODUCTIONS.COM website for more videos that YouTube doesn't control.)

  • Fantastic job. The only thing I would suggest is right after the "Nobody lives forever" card if you cut to Davison's line "Is this death?"

    Anyway, nice work!

  • Oooh, nice thought! If I do a 'redux' version, I will have to add that! Thanks for the suggestion and the compliment!

  • This video is very well done, packed with action.

I remember being a junior office clerk at Myer Department stores in the late 70's and early 80's. If memory serves me correctly, I think it was Peter Davison who made a guest appearance at Myer Coorparoo in the early 80's. The office manageress was disgusted that I was fascinated with Dr Who, but I did manage to get a sneak peek at the star.

Do we have any other Brisbane residents who would remember his visit to Myer?

  • Thanks very much! And trust me, if Peter Davison or any of the other Doctors made an appearance where I worked, I would be a very happy woman. :) 35 and still a fangirl, sigh...

  • Fantastic........ there are essentianlly no good clips of this episode on here.

Thats an amazing Story and I wish Davidson had been in more like it.

I just wish it had been Tegan with him at the end instead of Peri. She was very attached to the Doctor and I hated it when she left.Nyssa would have been better too. I don't hate Peri but he just met her when he Re-Generated.

  • CoA has always been one of my favorite episodes, but Peri has never been one of my favorites. Shame that Peter Davison's finest story was also his last, but at least he went out with a bang!

  • superb work, very well made

  • @samuraiko great episode along with The Visitation, Earthshock, Blach Orchard and Resurrection of the Daleks. this is why Peter Davison is my favourite Doctor.

  • that was so fucking amazing!!1

  • Yes he did... if i'm correct it was the only time (i suppose before the new series) it was indicated that the Doctor was potentially dying. I speak only of the TV series. When you see them all saying don't die at the end its because he maybe almost was on the verge of dying. Of course he just Re-Generated.Being young as I was when I 1st saw it, I took no notice. I really need to start listening to the BFA adventures.
