what is the name of this piece?

It's funny to see quite a big arm coming from behind the last kid playing the Red Violin at the monastery. The left hand is a lot bigger compared with his right hand, and you can see him wearing some sort of skin color glove. Perhaps, it is Joshua Bell's arm coming from behind, as we know he made several cameos appearances (as the concertmaster assistant, F. Pope solo with the orchestra, etc.) and recorded the complete violin solos for the movie.

I love this sound; it takes me back tot that Baroque era in seconds!

this piece just sends shivers down my spine. like, the last 8 measures just make me tingle.

damn... nawadays instruments dont last more than 5 years in any type of music institution, the instruments where i study (universidad de guadalajara) are the most pathetic excuse of sound emiting objects ive ever seen :C

Is the movie about the violin?
-
@bachkirche I think part of the problem is they don't know how to market a movie like this unless it starts to garner serious oscar attention.
-
They don't because films like this do not draw hordes of teenagers into the theatre on the opening weekend
Thank you so much for uploading this scene...
It's one of those many perfect ones in that movie, I like the ensemble as much as the solo

John Corigliano wrote this as an original piece for the movie.
