A New York & Atlantic Railway local freight blasts west through Syosset, making lots of noise for the crossing at Jackson Avenue. Today's consist is ex-LIRR MP15AC 155 and 7 cars. The train was coming from Smithtown. I am uncertain of the destination. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on August 18th, 2008.

  • NY&A never had customers in Smithtown, and hasn't had any customers past Huntington in a few years. The only time they ever go east of Huntington is to run around the train at Duke.

    Nice video though.

  • well, then they must have had a run to Duke to run around the train, because according to reports from the station agent and the station conductor, they both saw it going east with the engine on the point facing the way it is.
