@rsmolkin start by starting.....listen to alot of different house mixes, have your violin on hand. let the music into your soul and spit it back out with a violin riff. its just like any other music...its all about improvisation once you here the beat. if u cant think of shit to play over top the mix then maybe its not your gig. some people make music others play music.

Hi, I'm a classically trained violinist (haven't actually played in a few years), but I really want to get into playing this style of music on violin and maybe get a temp job at a local club I've seen some that get violinists to play along with some house or techno, but I'm not even sure how to start. Any suggestions?
