Very dark, I'm afraid. I begin with the great Italo-Byzantine mosaic in the apse of the sanctuary, then turn to the right to take in the image of St Mark, standing on the lion that represents him, then look back down into the nave - the sanctuary is on a level 3 meters higher than the main floor - then head down the stairs from the sanctuary to the main floor on the left, trying to capture a couple of frescoes in the Byzantine style, of the Annunciation and the Nativity. The stone-canopied structure on the main floor is actually a chapel commissioned by Cosimo de Medici, father of Lorenzo the Magnificent, in the early 400's.
