SUNSHINE & BULLDOZERS (Hi8us North)
A 70 minute film for a 15+ international audience that focuses on the experiences of four young mothers from Leeds as they try to secure a place to live on their regenerating housing estate.
It explores how local housing policies have shaped families on the estate over 3 generations. During the film, 2 of the mothers are pregnant and both are finding it difficult to find a place to live. With the future strategy being based on affordable private housing rather than social housing, can any of them really raise their families on the estate where their own have lived for 4 generations.
Produced & Directed by Dave Tomalin.
