Many people donate money to the American Cancer Society through their annual Relay for Life events. But the ACS funnels some of that money to killing human embryos for stem cell research. Should this fact cause pro-life people to donate to alternative cancer organizations? Josh thinks so, but Liz and Andrew disagree. Click the video above to watch the biggest internal debate from Life Report season one.

  • Have any of you read a recent UN report that unequivically (spelling, dire,I know!) states the legality of abortion has No bearing on the per capita abortion rate? You should have a look at what happened in Nicaragua recently, when the Ortega gov. gave in to the RCC and imposed a total abortion ban.Women started dying the same day it was passed, as a direct consequence. When you put a greater value on embryos/fetuses than women, women pay the price, often with their lives.

  • @dianalee84 I don't think unborn children are more valuable than women, but I don't think they are less intrinsically valuable either. If the unborn are fully human, then the question of their right to live should be settled. Why should the law be faulted for making it more risky to kill innocent human beings?

I don't want women to die from dangerous abortions, and I think any woman that chooses to take that risk is making the wrong choice, for several reasons, her own safety included.

  • All your lofty arguemnts in your ivory towers remind me of Nero/Fiddeling. Your eloquent reasons and analogies mean nothing to a woman faced with an unwanted pregnancy she's not prepared to go thru with.As for the zygotes/cell people thing..There's a fire at an IVF clinic.Do you save the petrie dish full of 'people' or a 2 year old? Or are you truely fetal worshippers? Are gestated beings not as worthy,as I've had the impression from so many antichoicers?

  • @dianalee84 If I'm giving a speech, and the building is set on fire, and I have to choose between saving my wife and the rest of the audience, I'm probably going with my wife. But that doesn't prove the audience members are not human. It just proves that if I had to make a immediate judgement call, my loyalties may be to the woman I love.

A question for you: do you think abortion should be legal through all 9 months of pregnancy, or just a portion of it?

  • @prochoicecliniescort I am around a ton of pro-life people, and I have yet to meet one that was against women having careers or participating in college. It's not like we want things to go back 200 years when women couldn't vote. I just don't think anybody should have the right to kill another human being simply because he or she is in the way of something we want, like a preferred lifestyle.

  • @LifeReport I live in Europe so maybe I can't comment on USA. But most pro-life people I have met are anti-women's career, college participation, equality within marriage etc..

  • I think the verse in the Bible about eating food sacrificed to idols might be appropriate. We can't always know where the money is going but if we know it is going to fund abortion related organizations then we should try to avoid them.

  • I did think about if you are an employer you can't know what your employees will use their money for, you can't know if they are going to give to Planned Parenthood or not. For the homeless, giving food rather than money is better.

  • @LifeReport i am against capital punishment even if the person getting killed killed lots of people. if you say killing a human being is wrong, unless self defense, then killing the killers is wrong. but yes, it all depends on how we see the embryos. and if we value more human dignity or human life.

  • @ComAntNeLib I'm personally anti-capital punishment, but I don't think that's relevant to the consistency of my pro-life argument. Unborn human beings aren't comparable to convicted killers. The reason I'm personally opposed to capital punishment is because of my concern that innocent people are still being executed.
