I'm a student at Towson University, and I just started my student teaching at Thomas Johnson Elementary in Baltimore City. I work really well with children on the Autism Spectrum, given my own experiences, but my internship went terribly wrong. My mentor teacher hit, kicked, and screamed at the children in an abusive manner. Reporting the abuse has nearly destroyed everything I have worked so hard for. My disorder has been used against me to discredit what happened, and both the college and the elementary school have tried to vilify me to protect their own reputations. Now what?

  • let me tell you some thing for you to do what you want to do and what you feel is right you have to stand up to that devil and say I'm going to do what i thing is right and keep fight for the kids.

  • I am sorry but I had an experience that was horrific and I stood up for the students...11 teachers were in the room in 5 years and NoOne stood up for the kids but me

..... and I was strongly punished!!!!

  • And you go and say something and what happens? Exactly they will lie to cover their tracks. This is what is wrong with education.

  • im glad that you reported these teachers that was very bad what they did and they deserved to be punished you have a lot of corage ive got learning dissibilies and still as an adult i always get mistreated bye maney peaple it makes me sad but it also in some way it makes me stronger to fight on and not give up i love my animals i find when im sad i can talk to them and they dont judge i think you should keep sticking up for kids that are being abused cause they are inecent and dont have a voice

  • Contact Liberty University Online they will most likely work with you to complete your degree. Ridiculous! I praise your actions and would do the same!

  • You must be so proud of what you have done! What courage you have. Don't give in to 'them'. You did the right thing. If you can't get a job in the school system, try to get a job with private citizens. I know this sounds weird, but contact the law firm that defended OJSimpson. They do a lot of good work, in spite of that case. And they win. Also, contact The ARI who may be able to direct you to resources. Network with autism resources, they will be your best support mechanism. God bless

  • Get networked with other autism organizations. File complaints--get friends and others involved. I'm going through something with my son's school right now. FIGHT and keep fighting. Parents of autistic children everywhere pray for someone like you--who has the balls to do the right thing! FIGHT back, and don't take the school's crap. This teacher is a criminal and should sit in a jail cell or be beaten by those kids parents.

  • you need to get video evidence of this.

  • you can fight that

  • when the establishment respond like this, it puts them on a parralell with the organisations that cover up pedophilia.

They use the exact same techniques to discredit witnesses.

you have done realy well and i consider you a saint
