@I2012Oracle I agree that clearly organized religion is used to control people. This doesn't mean that the philosophies they espouse are completely useless or irrelevant. You CAN learn things from people, even those whom you don't completely agree with.

@I2012Oracle Honestly, while I don't follow Islam and think most of what they believe is clearly silly/made up, these kinds of conspiracy stories are just pretty stupid and ill-informed. It's like saying because Muslims face Mecca when praying they worship a 40ft³ granite cube, not the God they claim to be worshipping. It's pretty silly. It's clear that Muslim theology & emphasis on monotheism is derived from Judaism as opposed to Xtianity.

@dredericktotem1245 Just Google search for "Untold Stories about Muhammad". Read that. Then Just look at everything Muslims do, from Hajj which is based on Moon and the rest. Originally Allah was the Moon God, Then Muhammad tried to promote it to God of Universe. We know that God of Universe would be more wise than this at least not so contradicting. God of Universe did not bring or create any religions. Religions are all man made, to control people and rule the masses.

@I2012Oracle Well it's very different to your original statement that Allah is simply the Moon God. The point is many people attempt to say (as you do) that since the term was used for other Gods, that they simply worship the same thing as before which is false. The concept changed from a pluralistic to monotheistic tone. The term stayed, just as our term for God would probably stay on in a different form. Doesn't mean they are equivalent.

Moon was important to Arabs, because days were hot, so Sun God was out and Moon God was in.

About the importance of Virgins in Islam: before Islam, the Arabs used to keep only one Girl and Kill the rest. So there was hardly any women to go around. They used to get naked and walk around kaabah, the house of Moon Goddess, have sex with anything they could, exchange of wife and kids, animals. Muhammad practiced it as well. There were no virgins. So for Muhammad followers, his heaven has virgins!
