I understand running from depth and using pace on the ball + a well chosen angle to create space for others or a line break.

I also understand that modern rugby at the highest level (not club rugby), has sacrificed depth for playing on gain line at the highest tempo possible, recycling the ball quickly often through offloads. This is because of highly effective modern defencive structures.

All that is ignoring the fact, that Fred infact never 'run something in the next play' during this match.

fair enough he missed a few tackles, but r u expectin him to tackle every1, half the time ur expexting him to tackle sum1 who ain't his man, or sumin who's being tackled by sum1 else. My advice, mayb get a hobby or sumin coz u got way 2 much spare time on ur hands

Says the man that's watched two and half thousand videos, has about 300 favourite vids and an abusive comment on his page (no doubt from trolling comments and contributing zero videos himself). Probably spending every single day online. He's a mercurial player and he evidently wasn't feeling that keen on this match day. There's no doubting, however, that he can produce some magic occasionally which is why he's still picked and why many of us want to watch him play. I do agree with a lot of your points on this one though. He pussied out royally.

Plus at least he's trying to turn the tide on the southern hemisphere exodus to the North.

Poor video...it seems you have a problem with this player : quite easy to choose the worst part of a game.

Michalak is a great 10, probably one of the best in the world and if you knew Rugby (but obviously you don't) you should have known that.

Unreasonable criticism in this video. i'm not angry at whoever made it or going to slag them off. Just some questionable reading of a game and defensive structures. I am a pro rugby player, I highly doubt whoever made this is. Michalak is one of the most gifted players of his generation.

The video was clearly made with an agenda against the player in mind. Half the points in defense you pull him up ' doing nothing' he's doing what he should be doing tracking back, or holding his poosition in the line. It's a sourthern hemisphere trait for people to pile into a tackle once it's taken place but if it's allrady going to ground taken your position as the 1st defender to either side is the right thing to do, a situation you penalise him for 'leaning on and spliting off.
