The Beagleboard is shown here running in "OMAP 3503" mode, without video or graphics hardware accelerators, playing VGA and QVGA video clips. The Beagleboard is shown to draw ~315 mA when running Angstrom but quiescent, and to draw ~360 mA when playing the movie clips complete with audio and synchronization.

  • I run mplayer with xv and alsa. But I generally just run VGA or QVGA size videos. In order to keep up with HD in general, you need to use the accelerators in the OMAP 3530. This demo uses only the ARM Cortex A8.

  • Great! I am a newbie to Angstrom and Beagleboard. I have tried running some HD content in mplayer but its very slow. What are your mplayer and boot settings?
