people have asked me how the macbook air performs when connected to a monitor so i wanted to give you guys an idea by using a plasma since i dont have a monitor. im using a panasonic 42inch plasma connected with the adapter that came with the macbook air connected to a belkin dvi to hdmi cable.

the picture format on the plasma was reading that the macbook air was putting out 1080p and i must say that everything looked amazing and vivid.

if you have any questions please feel free to ask

thanks for watching

  • Yes just get the appropriate adapter for your tv connection

  • Your macbook air is the rev b, right? Is it possible to run a 1080p movie without any issues (with the mac's screen off)? Sorry about my english.

  • It is Actually rev B and sometimes i do run 1080p movies without issues unless im streaming then it may hicup time to time but to do 1080p just go into your display preferences once you connected and it can be changed there.

  • any chance of getting sound from your mac to the plasma?

I have a panasonic plasma here and a macbook but I am not able to get sound - using a headphone jack stereo/RCA red-white cable

  • i actually use a home theatre system to produce the sound from the macbook while using it on the tv. the only way to get video and audio in the same tv source (tv,component, aux) is to use a s-video adapter but the quality sucks completely. i had it before my home theatre system and never used it unless absolutely needed because the quality wasnt great.

any other questions feel free to ask.

  • its funny that you would comment now because i am showing someone the quality. i have it as a dvi to hdmi its a belkin wire and the quality is ridiculously clear and bight, once the computer is connected to the tv teh mac air gives you the option to output at 720p 1080p 1080i and much more which makes it a million times brighter ad clearer. picture it as your desktop on HD and Blue ray and possibly better.

hope that helped. i like this setup better than my regular air led display

  • does it work on led thanks

  • That is cool, but what about sound out, do i have to plug 3.5 out put cable in my macbook air? To get a sound? Or the adapters in ur mac give hd sound?

  • @Dr39kdF

    common the song was cool....

  • if i decide to purchase the macbook air...........

will it connect to a simple 19'' tv ?

  • I cannot tell the quality of the mac display on the TV. Your video quality sucks, so it does absolutely nothing to show the resolution. This was a wasted three minutes of my life.

  • hey i have the same tv and my vga adapter to hdmi wont recognize the tv. can you help? comment or pm

    Thanks
