IWC Chair's interview 2008

The IWC has in recent years shown increasing signs of polarization and has reached something of an impasse.

Thus the IWC held an intersessional meeting prior to this year's annual meeting, to assist in this process, the Commission obtained the assistance of professors and ambassadors, all of whom have extensive and high-level experience with a range of challenging international issues.

The annual meeting has ended with member governments agreeing to try and resolve their differences. But there is still a long way to go.
