From Their 1986 Album Skylarking.

Lyrics:

My heart is taken its not lost in space
And I dont want to see your mooney mooney face
I say why on earth do you revolve around me
Arent you aware of the gravity
Dont need another satellite

Im happy standing on my feet of clay
I have no wish to swim your milky milky way
I say why on earth do you send your letters round here
Only to gum up the atmosphere
Dont need another satellite

So circling well orbit another year
Two worlds that wont collide
So circling well orbit another year
Moon still tries to steal the tide away

Dont need another satellite
Dont need another satellite

Abort your mission lets just say you tried
Before you glimpse I have a darker darker side
I say why in heavens name do you come on these trips
Only to freeze in a total eclipse
Dont need another satellite

So circling well orbit another year
Two worlds that wont collide
So circling well orbit another year
Moon still tries to steal the tide away
Dont need another satellite
Dont need another satellite

  • XTC deserve more respect from the media and new bands

  • Andy partridge is as gifted and talented as Paul mcCartney and John Lennon combined, but with better taste than both.

And talk about staying power, i was listening to english settlement when i was in the army in the early 80's.

Drums and wire is their best early album.

  • what a body of work andy and co. have put out over the years. i REALLY cherish this album ...great post ..thanx

  • @RDArtist81 I agree with @xyaqua and I'm not exaggerating. Lennon & McCartney wrote great, globally accessible songs but were also promoted worldwide, at a very opportune time in music entertainment history. The fact that I believed for 20 years that XTC were no more is a measure of their lack of exposure (desired? Maybe. Artistically uncompromising? Definitely).

  • @DerKosmonaut77 Can you post a recording of the interview?

  • Love it.

  • I think XTC is very influenced by Brian Eno in this song!

  • @genglemt Lame.
