139 lb / 63.5 kg quarterfinal bout in 1988 Seoul Olympics between American Todd Foster and Australian Grahame "Spike" Cheney. Despite Foster having stopped his last two opponents, he finds Cheney unafraid to trade punches with him, as the Australian appeared to be the stronger of the two, wearing the American down and then flattening him with a solid left hook to the jaw seconds into round 3. This probably made the difference as Cheney defeated Foster by a 3-2 decision and moved on to the medal round, where Cheney won a silver after losing to Vyacheslav Yanovski from the USSR. Yanovski interestingly was defeated by Todd Foster in a USA vs. USSR boxing meet earlier that year in Moscow.
our spike...one of the greats! i love how the yank tried to claim victory after being stopped!

You mean knocked down...Spike didn't stop Todd, but did knock him down, which was probably the difference in a 3-2 decision.
