The Ride of Silence isn't a charity thing. It is an annual worldwide event that is ridden in memorial of other cyclists who have been hit or killed by automobiles while legally riding on the roadways. It is purposely done at a slower pace out of respect and in memorial for those lost. Just as you should respect a slow moving funeral procession, please respect all cyclists you see on the roadway.
