Bolero is set in a Latin American village on a steamy, hot afternoon. The men are at siesta and the ladies are bored. To get the men moving, the ladies use all of their allures. Slowly the men begin to take notice and their passions awake. As intensity builds, the stifled and languid energy begins to fly with sensuous abandon.
Bolero is part of North Carolina Dance Theatre Director's Choice performance, October 13-15, 2011, at the Knight Theater in Charlotte, NC. The performance also includes Sasha Janes' Rhapsodic Dances and William Forsythe's In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated.
Tickets are available at ncdance.org and 704.372.1000
*This performance of Bolero is from February 2008.
